Clinical RCB
You'd have to say it was a clinical win for RCB. They were excellent in all three departments today. They faced an early hiccup by losing two wickets in an over to Varun Chakravarthy in the first innings. Then, Glenn Maxwell (78) helped RCB motor on with an excellent innings in the middle overs. The finishing touch was provided by AB de Villiers' remarkable 76 as RCB surged to 204/4 in 20 overs.
In response, Shubman Gill started off well with a blistering cameo of 21 before being sent back by a brilliant diving catch from Dan Christian. Nitish Rana and Rahul Tripathi scored 25 and 18, respectively but failed to convert their starts. Yuzvendra Chahal, who hadn't picked up a single wicket this season, bagged two in as many overs to further dent KKR's hopes. Morgan's 29, Shakib's 26, and Russell's 31 went in vain as KKR lost by 38 runs.

RUSSELL ON FULL CHARGE
SIX! Russell goes big to the biggest side of the field. Slower delivery from Jamieson, Russell picks it up. He stays put, bends low, and smacks it over deep mid-wicket.

RUSSELL UNLEASHES THE BIG GUNS
SIX! Short and straight, a nothing ball really from Chahal, and Russell obliges. Rocks back and thumps it over deep mid-wicket for six.

Halfway stage!
KKR reach 83/4 after 10 overs, needing 122 of 60 balls.
OUT!
OUT! Yuzvendra Chahal has two in two overs. An absolute peach of a delivery to get rid of Dinesh Karthik. Looked like a slider from Chahal that wrapped Karthik plumb in front of stumps. DK tried to play for the leg break and got stuck in his crease. Nitin Menon gave out and there were no doubts about that whatsoever. KKR are 75/4 after 9 overs.
KKR in deep trouble
Dinesh Karthik and Eoin Morgan out in the middle. A tidy over from Sundar, concedes just seven from it. KKR are 73/3 after 8 overs.
FOUR, FOUR, OUT!
FOUR, FOUR, OUT! It's all happening in Chennai. After two cheeky boundaries, one past the slips with a late cut and the other with a paddle sweep, Rana falls to Chahal. He tried to go for the maximum but ended up holing out to Devdutt Padikkal in deep mid-wicket.
First wicket of the season for Chahal

KKR openers Shubman Gill and Nitish Rana now walk out.
"Worst piece of captaincy ever"
In the mid-innings show, Gautam Gambhir is fuming at the decision-making of Eoin Morgan. He cannot believe that Varun wasn't given a second over after picking up two wickets, including Virat Kohli, in his first over.
"Worst piece of captaincy I have ever seen. Thankfully an Indian captain didn't do that," remarked Gambhir.
PURE MAGIC
Irrespective of what team you support, who just gotta stand up and applaud the genius of ABD.
That was ball-striking of the highest order. 9 fours of 3 sixes.
It was 9/2. Enter Glenn Maxwell.
Once Maxwell got out, enter AB de Villiers.
WOW!
WOW! That's all one can say after everything that has just unfolded at Chepauk.
AB de Villiers finishes unbeaten on 76 off 34 balls.
Maxwell scored 78 off 49 balls.

6th Ball- FOUR! As straight as an arrow. Deep in his crease, he thumps the ball over the bowler for four.
LAST OVER COMING UP
RUSSELL TO ABD. 6 BALLS TO GO!
FIFTY FOR AB DE VILLIERS!
FIFTY! AB de Villiers at his absolute best. Gets there in typical AB fashion. Short from the spinner, AB rocks back and goes inside out over extra cover for a huge maximum.
JAMIESON TAKES ON HARBHAJAN!
FOUR! SIX! Excellent batting from Jamieson. He drives through extra cover for four and then smacks a full, tossed-up delivery from Harbhajan for a six over long-off.
Genius ABD!
FOUR! ABD manages to dig deep enough to carve a low, wide full-toss for four behind square.
FOUR! A fast full toss from Russell taks ABD by surprise. But the genius of ABD manages to open his face of the bat and guide it past third man fielder for four.
18 gone, RCB ARE 165/4
Andre Russell, hello there!
Andre Russell is introduced into the attack. Starts with a dot. Follows it up with a wide.
SIX! His third ball, second legal ball, is hit for a six. Coming around the wicket, offers a low full-toss. ABD muscles it over deep mid-wicket for a six.
OUT! Maxell departs
OUT! Pat Cummins gets the much-needed wicket of Glenn Maxwell. Cummins pitches it short. Maxwell steps back and tries to slam the ball off the pull but he only finds the top edge. The ball balloons to Harbhajan at short fine leg. Maxwell goes for 78 off 49.
Kyle Jamieson is the new man in. RCB are 148/4 after 17 overs.
50 partnership
FIFTY-RUN STAND! It's just come in 31 balls. AB de Villiers is well and truly set now. Hits 2 FOURS in the over. The first one was hammered past mid-off and the second one was flicked over deep mid-wicket. Stand and deliver stuff.

SIX! Out of nowhere? Can't say that with Maxwell. Reverse sweeps the ball over deep cover for four. Exceptional batting.
RCB are 134/3 after 15 overs. 17 off the over.
EXPENSIVE FROM CUMMINS
Two consecutive wides. Maxwell trying to stay close to the sideline but straying it wide on both occasions. On both occasions, Maxwell gives himself room, trying hit through the off side.
FOUR! That is why Cummins was trying to keep it out of Maxwell's reach because the moment the ball is in a well-set Maxwell's reach, it's most-likely to result in a boundary. Full and wide, Maxwell throws his hands and slashed it over third man for four.
11 runs from Cummins' third over. RCB are 117/3 after 14 overs. Maxwell on 68 and AB on 12 off 9.

DK-Varun Tamil special
Dinesh Karthik passing on suggestions to Varun Chakravarthy in Tamil. Very vocal there. Yours truly lived in Chennai for 18 months but sadly didn't pick up Tamil well enough to decipher the meaning.
100 up for RCB
Six off the Prasidh Krishna over plus a wicket as RCB cross 100.
OUT! KKR GET THE BREAKTHROUGH!
OUT! Devdutt Padikkal falls for 25. An innings full of toil comes to an end as he holes out to Rahul Tripathi at deep mid-wicket. Prasidh digs it short but the ball doesn't sit up as much as Devdutt expected. The RCB batsman goes for the pull but the timing was missing.
AB de Villiers in the new man in
