The Chairman, UGC, Prof. M. Jagadesh Kumar said that UGC is working closely with NTA and all efforts are being made to declare the UGC-NET results in a day or two. He wished the candidates all the best.

The candidates who qualify for the award of JRF are eligible to pursue research in the subject of their post-graduation or in a related subject and are also eligible for Assistant Professor. The universities, institutions, IITs and other national organizations may select the JRF awardees for full time research work in accordance with the procedure prescribed by them.

Weeding out rules is that the record of the December 2020 cycle (May 2021) of the University Grant Commission - National Eligibility Test (UGC-NET) would be preserved up to 90 days from the date of declaration of result.

Phase I exam was conducted between November 20, 2021 and December 5, 2021, Phase II between December 24 and 27, 2021 and Phase III on January 4 and 5, 2022.

The National Eligibility Test is conducted on behalf of UGC by the NTA for determining the eligibility of Indian nationals for the eligibility of assistant professorship, Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) or both, for Indian universities and colleges.

There shall be no re-evaluation/re-checking of results. No correspondence in this regard shall be entertained, read the official information bulletin.

The UGC-NET was conducted in 81 subjects, in 837 centres spread across 239 cities in India and more than 12 lakh candidates had registered for the UGC-NET exam.

15% of the seats for Scheduled Castes (SC) candidates.

7.5% of the seats for Scheduled Tribes (ST) candidates

27% of the seats for Other Backward Classes (OBC) Non-Creamy Layer (NCL) candidates as per the Central List*

10% of the seats for General - Economically Weaker Sections (General - EWS) candidates

04% of the seats in the above mentioned categories for Persons with Disability (PwD) with 40% or more disability.

The eligibility for ‘Assistant Professor’ or for ‘Junior Research Fellowship and Assistant Professor’ will depend on the performance of the candidate in both the papers of UGC-NET in aggregate. However, the candidates qualifying exclusively for Assistant Professor will not be considered for the award of JRF.

The UGC-NET was conducted in 81 subjects, in 837 centres spread across 239 cities in India and more than 12 lakh candidates had registered for the UGC-NET exam.

UGC NET 2021 examination to be conducted on December 5 was rescheduled due to a red alert issued in the states of Odisha and Andhra Pradesh for cycline JAWAD. The exam was rescheduled for centres in the cities of Bhubaneshwar, Gunupur, Cuttack, Berhampur (Ganjam) Puri and Vishakhapatnam only. The examination for all other cities of Odisha, Andhra Pradesh and all other states will be held as per schedule. 

UGC NET exam this year was conducted in three phases. Phase I exam was conducted between November 20, 2021 and December 5, 2021, Phase II between December 24 and 27, 2021 and Phase III on January 4 and 5, 2022.

This year over 12 lakh candidates are waiting for the UGC NET December result. The result once declared by the Commission and Agency can check the result on the official site of UGC NET on ugcnet.nta.nic.in. 

UGC NTA NET result for December and June cycle will be announced together likely today, February 18, 2022. Candidates can check the result for both the cycles on ugcnet.nta.nic.in and nta.ac.in. The direct link will be available here. 

Cut off marks for UGC NET 2021 Result is 40 marks for Paper I  for general category candidates out of 100. For EWS/SC/ST/OBC/PwD/Transgender candidates, the cut off marks is 35 marks. 

For paper 2, the general category candidates need to score 70-75 marks out of 200, OBC/EWS candidates need 65-70 marks, SC candidates need 60-65 and ST candidates need 55-60 marks to qualify.
