Euro 2020 Turkey vs Italy Highlights: Italy beat Turkey 3-0 in season opener

Well, that was it! Italy have won the first match quite convincingly by 3-0. Insigne and Immobile all added their names to goal list -- Demiral scored the own goal to add to Italy's cause.

IMMOBILE SCORES! A goal of a poacher from Immobile - he would love it! Barella feeds Berardi on right, who Berardi chips long for Spinazzola. He shoots hard at goalkeeper Cakir, who parries it on to the feet of Immobile, who lashes home from six yards.

Immobile makes a good run inside the box, but was caught just off side. Turkey have lost all sense of semblance.

Turkey keeping up possession early on in 2nd half, and are making headways. A good defensive push from Di Lorenzo to Under gives back the ball to Italy.

Italy need to change their attacking set-up if they have to break this Turkish defence. Slow and steady, and meaningful shot would make a difference.

Italy were left frustrated by a fantastic Turkey defence that kept themselves inside their own half for the first 45 minutes. It is half time, Turkey 0-0 Italy.

VAR Penalty Check - Handball call? Nope, it has been turned down. Immobile's shot had struck Turkish defender on hand, but it was too close. Turned down.

Donnarumma to the rescue! Turkey's counter-attack gave some sense of attacking prowess to Turkey -- but eventually it was saved by Donnarumma.

MISS! Barella's ambitious kick from far away goes far away. That one is way too high.

Some respite for Turkey, strolling along the ball in midfield. But Italy are relentless as of now. Not letting any chances go.

Waste of a shot! Bonucci gets a shot going from a long distance, lot of gap, could not resist. Naughty, but not needed.

CHANCE! Insigne gets the first real chance. a fantastic pass inside the box, but Insigne tried to whip it into the nets, and he hit it far wide.

Spinazzola crosses a ball inside the box, but dealt well by Turkish defender. No room to break through.

Ciro Immobile has been one of the top goal-scorers in Serie A and he has to be the key for Italy this time around. Turkey have never won against Italy, but this game could break this curse, this Turkey squad is no joke. Immobile has to give his team an early goal, he is a poacher, and that is his job for today.
