“Akshay has been the biggest fitness enthusiast in Bollywood. More than two months back, he started the campaign #FitIndia where he posted workout videos of himself. He’s currently shooting for Kesari in the remote hills of Spiti Valley. When he’ll be back, he’ll surely be more than keen to take forward the fitness campaign started by Sports and I&B Minister Capt Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore, under the guidance of the Prime Minister,” says the source.

Akshay’s social media page has several videos where the actor can be seen working out and trying various forms of exercises with the hashtag #FitIndia. The videos show the actor swimming with weights, working out with a hoola hoop made of wooden beads and even playing volley ball at Juhu beach, Mumbai.

Recently, PM Modi acknowledged and appreciated Akshay’s efforts towards the Fit India campaign and said that the actor is a source of encouragement for today’s generation and that he inspires the youth with his physical activities, which promote a fit and healthy way of life.
