Shah Rukh’s Raees, Salman’s Sultan won’t clash on Eid. Because...
After a lot of speculation, it has been revealed that the release date of Shah Rukh Khan’s next, Raees, which has been directed by Rahul Dholakia, has been moved to January 26, 2017. It was originally supposed to release around the Eid weekend this year.
Before this change in schedule, the actor’s film was set to clash with Salman Khan’s next, Sultan, which is also slated to release around Eid.
However, SRK’s film will still face some stiff competition, as an Ajay Devgn-starrer, directed by Milan Luthria, and director Sanjay Gupta’s next, starring Hrithik Roshan are also scheduled for a January 26 release next year.

Initially, news of Shah Rukh’s film releasing on Eid this year caused quite a flutter in the industry. This is because the Eid weekend is unofficially considered Salman’s domain, as a number of his films have released during that period. Even his last film, Bajrangi Bhaijaan (2015), released around the Eid weekend, and set cash registers ringing at the box office. In fact, the Bollywood star has reportedly already blocked next year’s Eid weekend with a movie that will be directed popular film-maker Kabir Khan.
