A senior NHAI official said the entire length of the bypass road is around 14.4km and the stretch that is proposed to be opened is around 7.9km. “We are working hard to ensure that this stretch is opened for traffic by the end of this month or by the first half of April. A proposal in this regard is being sent for consideration of the competent authority,” he said, on the condition of anonymity.

“The stretch has already been opened for a traffic trial and load testing is also being conducted. The road should be opened for traffic from March 31 onwards. The outer bypass project is being executed by the NHAI under the Bharatmala project of the Union ministry of road transport and highways. The opening of the stretch will greatly reduce traffic congestion in Rewari city,” the minister said.

“The project is being done at a cost of 700 crore,” the minister said.

The Gurugram MP also informed that work on the construction of a railway overbridge has been started and 10 railway lines will pass through the rail freight corridor near Daliaki village.
