It comes just days after Sidhu's last song was released on his YouTube channel. Sidhu had recorded the song, which he had also written and composed, just weeks before his untimely death. Titled SYL, the song's promo was shared on his Instagram page as well. The lyrics of the song referred to the Sutlej-Yamuna Link canal.

While the promo remained on Instagram, the song was removed from YouTube later. The link to the song now displays a message which reads, "Video unavailable. This content is not available on this country domain due to a legal complaint from the government. " The video had already raked in over 27 million views by the time it was taken down.

Sidhu was shot dead in Punjab’s Mansa district on May 29 by assailants, allegedly belonging to Lawrence Bishnoi’s gang. An investigation into the matter is underway.
