New bride Lara Dutta, who just tied the knot with tennis champ Mahesh Bhupati seemed to have rethought her bridal look, on her way to the wedding venue. Surprisingly enough, when Dutta stepped out to reach for her Goan ceremony, she had accessorised her Elie Saab white tail gown with a shimmering diamond necklace. But in her pictures after the ceremony, the necklace was missing.

So, may be Dutta thought that her bling tiara, chandelier earrings and a necklace was an overdose of accessories and decided to go bare neck instead. Or, may she just got tired of the bridal bling, and chose to do away with it. Some designers think may be Lara shun the necklace to show off her sexy décolletage. “She wore a lace gown, not an embellished one. The diamond set only added to her look. I don’t know why she removed the neckpiece, probably she wanted to look sexy and show off skin,” says stylist Rajat Tangri.

Designer Mandira Wirk says, “Maybe the diamonds along with the hair accessory were over powering the simple lace gown. It could either be your dress or jewellery; you have to focus on one. It was a day wedding, too much jewellery and accessories can ruin the look.” Designer Anjalee Kapoor adds, “Knowing Lara as a person, she prefers keeping her look very simple. Even the gown which she is wearing is very simple and elegant. It might be for the photo opportunity she wanted to keep things minimal and took off that heavy neckpiece.”
