India Couture Week 2018, a saree is eternal and couturier Suneet Varma gave us some of the best saree looks of the night.

What is that one outfit that every bride needs when she gets married? It’s the timeless saree. Whether a family heirloom or a designer creation, a saree is a must in every bride’s trousseau. But how does a modern bride interpret her version of this classic? A look at ace couturier Suneet Varma’s collection at Hindustan Times and Sunil Sethi Design Alliance’s India Couture Week 2018 proves that a saree can be fun and fearless too.

Take for instance this saree in a pastel shade with net detailing above. It screams elegance, but will also bring out your playful personality. We love the bead detailing on the blouse, a trend that’s bound to have a long shelf life.

Ruffles look great on a saree too. Check out this black number with exquisite zardozi work. Though ruffled sarees have been around for a while, Varma takes it to the next level by giving it a theatrical feel. Combine it with the metallic striped blouse and you’ve got yourself a killer outfit for the cocktail party.

These three sparkling, glamorous sarees are for born fashionistas. The net blouse with ruffles at the back in the first one adds just the right amount of drama to the outfit. The elegant white net saree in the middle is the perfect ensemble for day functions. We’re happy to see floral detailing continue to rule many couture collections. If you are looking for something light and breezy for the haldi function, don’t look any further than the third one: A beautiful yellow saree with floral detailing. Want to add some more colour, opt for a contrasting blouse and you’re golden.

This cream coloured saree might be our most favourite piece from the collection. The muted design is complemented with a heavy zardozi cape blouse, what’s not to love? You can even opt for a jacket blouse with heavy embellishments.

This nude timeless piece is a must for every classy bride. The best part? It’ll look good on anyone and everyone.

India Couture Week, presented by Hindustan Times and Sunil Sethi Design Alliance, will be on from July 25 to July 29, in Delhi.
