Ex-MLA Rajendra Singh, who vacated the Budhni seat for Shivraj Singh Chouhan has chosen April 4, the party April 6 while CM?s family members want him to file nomination papers on April 7, according to sources.
THREE AUSPICIOUS days have been chosen for Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan to file nomination papers for Budhni Assembly by-election. Ex-MLA Rajendra Singh, who vacated the Budhni seat for Shivraj Singh Chouhan has chosen April 4, the party April 6 while CM’s family members want him to file nomination papers on April 7, according to sources.
BJP leaders would sit tomorrow to decide final date out of the three dates. When asked in this regard, though Chouhan kept mum, Industry Minister Gaur, who was sitting with the CM at a function, said the nomination papers would be filed on April 6.
Gaur added he said he would accompany the CM on the occasion. April 6, however, is a holiday. April 7 is the last date for filing nomination papers for the by-election. Polling would be held on April 24 and counting would take place on April 27.
Meanwhile, Congress candidate for the Budhni seat would be declared on April 3, according to PCC president Subhash Yadav. Talking to media persons in Indore today
Yadav, however, refused to comment on party candidate against the CM. He said a meeting of senior Congress leaders on April 3 would take a final decision.
He said it was also likely that the names of remaining Congress district presidents would be decided on the same day. Although over a dozen names are making the rounds for Budhni by-poll, former minister and Digvijay Singh-acolyte Raj Kumar Patel is still front-runner.
