The Election Commission has ordered repoll in 30 polling stations in Tamil Nadu for "various reasons," and the process would be gone through on Wednesday, an official press release said.
Repolling had been ordered in 19 booths as technical errors developed in the EVMs while polling to 39 Lok Sabha seats in the state was held on Monday.
In another eleven booths, repolling had been ordered because polling officials had permitted voters, whose name had been deleted from the electoral rolls, to vote, it said.
The state recorded a polling percentage of 60.56 on Monday. Nagapattinam Lok Sabha constituency recorded the highest voter turn out with 71.49 per cent and Chennai North recorded the lowest with 46.15 per cent.
Meanwhile, all the EVMs, which had recorded the polling, had been kept in safe custody in the respective counting centres. Central Paramilitary forces were keeping vigil at the counting centres, official sources said.
