FIR lodged against Bollywood star Ajay Devgan
A police complaint has been filed against Bollywood actor Ajay Devgan in Ranchi by the owner of a production house, charging the actor with cheating, say police sources.
A police complaint has been filed against Bollywood actor Ajay Devgan in the Jharkhand capital by the owner of a production house, charging the actor with cheating, police sources said on Saturday.
According to the sources, the FIR was lodged in Argora police station of the city on Friday by Rajesh Kumar Prasad of Kumar Art International (KAI), charging the actor with cheating, as he had not assigned dates for the movie he signed even after taking the signing amount.
The complaint says KAI, which also has an office Mumbai, signed a movie with Devgan January 1995. The actor was to be paid Rs 2.1 million, and KAI gave him Rs. 200,000 as signing amount.
Ajay, who plays the lead role in the movie, had spared only few hours and after that never bothered, the complaint said.
The complaint also says that Prasad approached the actor's personal secretary to get time but did not get any positive response. After waiting for 14 years, he lodged FIR against Ajay.
The FIR has been lodged under different sections of IPC including 406 (criminal breach of trust) and 420 (cheating).
Prasad, a resident of Ranchi, said the movie agreement was signed here itself. He further said Ajay's act caused heavy financial loss and mental stress to him.
