At the Australian Olympic Trials, Libby Lenton became the first Australian woman to break the world 100m freestyle mark breaking the record set up Inge de Bruijin (Netherlands).

In Athens, she will attempt to become the first Australian gold medallist in the 100m free since Dawn Fraser in 1964. She will also attempt to become the first Australian woman to win a medal in the 50m free.
