Maoists killed a tribal in Narayanpatna area of Orissa's Koraput district suspecting him to be a police informer, police said on Saturday.

The victim, Dilu Habika (35), had been abducted by a group of armed ultras from his village, Pilibadi, about 30 km from Koraput late Friday night, they said.

Habika's body was found near the village early Saturday morning with his throat slit, police said, adding handwritten posters left by the rebels were found from the site.
Security has been tightened in the area following the incident and a massive combing operation has been launched to trace the Maoists, they said.
