Mehar case: KD Singh released on bail
A city court granted bail to ruling SP leader KD Singh, one of the accused in the Mehar Bhargava murder case.
A city court on Monday granted bail to ruling Samajwadi Party leader and block pramukh KD Singh, one of the accused in the Mehar Bhargava murder case.
Singh, who was arrested late Sunday night by police and charged with providing shelter to the main culprits, was ordered to be released on furnishing two sureties of Rs 15,000 and personal bond of like amount by Chief Judicial Magistrate Dharam Veer Sharma.
The magistrate granted bail to Singh after hearing his bail plea finding that the offences were bailable.
Earlier in the day, Singh was produced before the magistrate and taken into judicial custody till April 10.
The magistrate later in the day granted him bail.
It was alleged by the prosecution that the two main culprits Sachin Pahari and Amit Singh lived in his flat at the Dilipur Towers in Lucknow.
Pahari and Singh are still absconding while two others have been arrested earlier in conenction with the case.
