Negative accumulations should be dislodged: Karmapa

He was delivering a talk on ‘Human Rights and International Obligations’, organised by Missionaries of Lord Buddha at Allahabad University Students Union hall on Sunday.

Karmapa said negative accumulations should be dislodged and one should sincerely appreciate nature for world peace. He said we perform different works and every work has good and bad aspects and we should differentiate between the two before we proceed further.

He further said for spreading love we need some motivation and examples like that of Dr BR Ambedkar. Patience is the only way to deal with terrorism, he added while answering to a question on how to tackle terrorism.

Earlier, the programme began with lighting of lamp by Karmapa and prayer by him. Guru Prasad Madan presented a book to Karmapa and said the spirit of Dr Ambedkar’s movement against suppression of dalits and downtrodden people is still alive and well spread across the world. He said Dalits and the weaker section of the society still suffer discrimination and this could be eliminated if these people were empowered.

Puran Mal from Delhi said humans developed a tendency to overpower the each other and Buddha spread the message of humanity and concern for others. He said the 17th Karmapa is determined to carry forward the responsibility of world peace.

Member World Peace Prayers Society, USA TM Kumar recounted the active participation of 17th Karmapa in several programmes in the country including Golden Jubilee Dharma Samaroh held at Bhopal.

Narayan Singh of Munger, AU student leader Pradeep Verma also expressed their views on the occasion. Convenor of the seminar, Founder Member of Missionaries of Lord Buddha HP Maurya proposed vote of thanks.
