Addressing birth anniversary function of former Bihar Chief Minister Karpoori Thakur organised by his party, Kumar said "backstabbing" could not be ruled out.

"Peet pichhe bar bhi ho sakta hain, " (I can get stabbed in the back)," he remarked, but would not elaborate.

Earlier, JD (U) general secretary and party spokesperson Shambhu Nath Shrivastava warned that a few "party insiders" could also gang up to defame the Nitish Kumar government.

"The Opposition is trying to defame the government but a few party insiders could also do the same," said Shrivastava, who described Nitish Kumar as the "real inheritor" of the legacy Karpoori Thakur.

The function was also addressed by state JD(U) president Rajiv Ranjan Singh alias Lalan Singh, former Bihar Chief Minister Jagannath Mishra, senior party leader Navin Kumar Arya and others.
