Police question rocker
Police investigating allegations that supermodel Kate Moss used cocaine have questioned former Clash rocker Mick Jones.
Police investigating allegations that supermodel Kate Moss used cocaine have questioned former Clash rocker Mick Jones, police said Thursday.
Jones went to a police station to speak to officers over claims that the supermodel used the drug in a west London music studio, police said. She was in the studio with ex-boyfriend Pete Doherty, troubled frontman of rock group Babyshambles, whose album was being produced by 50-year-old Jones.
"A 50-year-old man voluntarily attended a west London police station today (Thursday) in relation to a Metropolitan police investigation into newspaper allegations of possible drug abuse by a woman," a police spokeswoman said.
Tarique Ghaffur, the Assistant Commissioner of London's Metropolitan Police, appealed earlier this month to Moss to return to Britain as they wanted to speak to her "as soon as possible" as part of their investigations.
The Daily Mirror, which first published grainy video stills of the 31-year-old allegedly using the drug at the London recording studio last year, said she would cooperate with the appeal.
The allegations led to Moss losing lucrative contracts with Swedish retailer H and M, French fashion and perfume house Chanel and trendy British trenchcoat brand Burberry.
But Moss has made a comeback on the covers of leading fashion magazines plus a television commercial for Virgin mobile phones in Britain that shows her making only a nice cup of tea.
She has been in the United States for about three months and underwent treatment at a detox centre in Arizona after issuing a public apology for her hard-partying conduct.
