According to The Mirror, only 49 percent of the around 16,000 officers belonging to the Metropolitan police said that they "treated people equally regardless of their ethnicity".
The findings, which come five years after personnel belonging to Britain's biggest force, The Metropolitan Police was labaeled "institutionally racist", has already sent alarm bells ringing in several places

However, top officials in the Police are not much worried with the findings, saying that cultural and attitudinal changes change over a period of time.
"Cultural and attitudinal change does not happen overnight. It takes time, resources and skill and we have come a long way," Met's human resources director Martin Tiplady was quoted as saying.
Incidentally only a mere 15, 616 questionnaires sent out to all the 43,359 Met officers and staff were returned.
