It is the fourth time, the CBI has procured the MLA’s custody remand since his arrest on April 12. Earlier, he remained in custody of CBI from April 13 to 27 ( in continuation two separate custody remand from CBI court Lucknow and POCSO court of Unnao) and thereafter he was taken into two day custody on May 20 and May 22.

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Wednesday yet again procured three-day custody remand of BJP MLA Kuldeep Singh Sengar.

The MLA and his woman aide were earlier booked for rape and kidnapping of the teenage girl while the MLA’s brother Atul Singh Sengar and his five aides were booked for the murder of the rape victim’s father.(HT File)

A senior CBI official said the MLA’s custody remand was again sought after fresh revelations by two cops, former station house officer of Makhi police station Ashok Singh Bhadauria and sub-inspector Kamta Prasad Singh of the same police station, in connection with framing the teenage rape victim’s father in false case of possession of illegal firearms.

He said the two cops, who are already in custody of CBI since Friday morning, will be brought face to face with the MLA again over some contradictions between the two statements. He said the cops had revealed during interrogation that they had framed the victim’s father in false case on the MLA’s behest after his brother and aides had beaten him up brutally on April 3.

The victim’s father had suffered multiple injuries in the attack on April 3, but the two cops sent him to jail without providing him proper medical treatment. He died on April 9 during treatment at Unnao district hospital, where he was shifted after his condition deteriorated on the night of April 8.

The MLA and his woman aide were earlier booked for rape and kidnapping of the teenage girl while the MLA’s brother Atul Singh Sengar and his five aides were booked for the murder of the rape victim’s father. In five separate FIRs registered in the Unnao rape and murder cases, the CBI so far has arrested 10 people, including MLA Sengar, his brother Atul and their six aides, including a woman aide Shashi Singh, after taking up the case on April 13.
