He said this issue was discussed with Punjab deputy chief minister Sukhbir Singh Badal during his recent visit to the holy city and it was decided to give a new look to the roads, lanes, streets and interior roads.

Joshi added, “Roads, including Chatiwind Road, Baba Bhodi Wala Chowk, interior of Sultanwind Gate and Ramsar Road to Golden Temple, will witness laying of CC flooring, premix, interlocking tiles, concrete roads and premix carpets.”

Announcing that Amritsar will get another big grant for development purposes soon, Joshi reiterated that the state government would leave no stone unturned to develop Amritsar as one of the most developed cities in the country.

Joshi said on completion of these projects, devotees and daily commuters would get rid of the traffic chaos on the city roads.
