The body, which was flown from Washington, the US Capital, reached his native place in Chhehertta area at about 5am and was cremated after a few hours following the rituals.
Sharma (45), who worked at a gas station in Washington, was reportedly murdered by an unidentified person, who barged into the gas station and shot Sharma dead after snatching cash.
The episode had sent a shock wave in the city and left the family dejected.
Talking to reporters on Saturday, Rajni Sharma, wife of the victim, said, "The incident has left us shocked and in disbelief. When my husband was killed, I did know where to go. We even went to officials of the state government, but nobody helped us. The only help came in from people in America, who sent the body to India."
Sharma's kin slammed the state government and the administration for not showing any sympathy with the family and staying away from the cremation.
Dr Raj Kumar Verka, deputy chairman of National Commission for SC/ST, said: "The government must sympathies with the bereaved family and provide a suitable job to one of the family members and support them financially."
Former mayor Sunil Datti was also present at the cremation.
