Udhayanidhi Stalin’s next film with Seenu Ramaswamy goes on floors
Udhayanidhi Stalin begins to work on his next film to be directed by Seenu Ramaswamy and produced by home banner, Red Giant Movies.
Last seen playing a photographer in Priyadarshan’s Nimir, actor-producer Udhayanidhi Stalin’s next project Kanne Kalaimanne – named after the popular song from Kamal Haasan’s Moondram Pirai - went on the floors with a pooja on Monday in Madurai. Tipped to be a rural romantic drama, the film marks the first time collaboration of Udhay and Seenu, whose last outing was the highly successful Vijay Sethupathi starrer Dharmadurai. To be produced by Udhay’s Red Giant Movies, the film will also star Tamannaah Bhatia as the leading lady.
Udhay, who had three releases in 2017, has decided to take things slow in 2018. As of now, he hasn’t signed any new project other than this one with Ramaswamy. Yuvan Shankar Raja has been roped in to compose music. Upon completion of this project, Ramaswamy will commence work on Vijay Sethupathi starrer Maamanidhan, which is rumoured to be a political drama. The film will be produced by music composer Yuvan Shankar Raja, who on Friday announced that the project will feature music by three composers from the same family. For the first time ever, Ilaiyaraaja along with his sons Yuvan Shankar Raja and Karthik Raja are teaming up to score music for Maamanidhan.
Last week, a day after Ilayaraja was conferred the covered Padma Vibhushan, Yuvan Shankar Raja shared the news on his Twitter handle, “On this honourable happy occasion, we @YSRfilms are delighted to announce our next project with my father Ilayaraja, brother Karthikraja and myself scoring music together for the first time for my production venture Maamanidhan staring @i_vijaysethu and directed by @seenuramasamy,” Yuvan tweeted. While the rest of the cast and crew are yet to be finalised, it is believed that the project will roll from April or May.
