Wife files case against director Sreenu Vaitla, withdraws later
Santoshi Rupa, wife of popular Telugu film director Sreenu Vaitla, who registered a case of domestic harassment against him on October 15, withdrew it the very next day and has told the police that she is ready to stay with him.

On October 15, Rupa had approached the Banjara Hills police station alleging that Vaitla has assaulted her after an altercation. Post the incident, Rupa left their house at Journalist’s Colony in Jubilee Hills and went to live with her parents at Yousufguda. “Based on the complaint lodged by Rupa, we have registered a case against Sreenu Vaitla under section 498-A (subjecting a married woman to cruelty) of the IPC,” said Inspector P Murali Krishna.

However, on October 16, Rupa alongwith her advocate, submitted a petition to the said police station, stating that she wanted to withdraw the case against her husband and expressed a desire to continue living with him. “We will counsel the couple and decide about the future course of action,” the inspector added.

Rupa and Vaitla have been married for 10 years and have three children together.

Sreenu Vaitla is a prominent Telugu director, known for his films such as Dookudu, Dubai Seenu, Parama Veera Chakra and Aagadu. He is currently busy with his new film Bruce Lee The Fighter which stars Ram Charan Teja.
