Roy went down fighting 4-6 5-7 to seventh seed Shokeen in the second round match, on Wednesday.

Shokeen will now face-off against top seed Adam Vejmelka of Czech Republic.

Also making the last-eight stage were finalist of the last week's event Divij Sharan, Sunil Kumar Sipaeya and National Champion Ashutosh Singh

Fifth seed Divij rallied from a set down to beat Sri Lankan Harshana Godamanna 5-7 6-3 7-5 to set up quarterfinal clash against Sipaeya, who got past Asim Shafik of Pakistan 6-4 6-2.

Second seed Ashutosh hardly broke a sweat to advance as he defeated Belgian Bart Govaerts 6-2 6-1 in his second round match.

The Delhi boy next faces a tricky opponent in Aqeel Khan, who had won the title at the last week's event at the same venue.

In the doubles event, the good run of top-seeded Indian pair of Shokeen and Ashutosh continued as they reached the final of the tournament after defeating third seed Taipei duo of Huai-En Chang and Hsin-Han Lee 6-4 7-6(7) in the semifinal match.
