Aviation authorities in the United Arab Emirates say a hot air balloon carrying 14 people has crashed, killing at least two and injuring one.

The General Civil Aviation Authority said the balloon crashed Sunday morning at 6:20 near the village of Suwaihan, southeast of Dubai.

It says the nationalities of those killed are Indian and French. An aviation authority spokeswoman was unable to provide further details on the accident.
The cause of the crash is under investigation.
