Theme-based theatre, hip-hop dances and a rocking celebrity night marked Mecca - the annual fest of Hindu College. Hindu college wore a festive look, as this year’s edition of Mecca, its annual cultural fest, started on a foot-tapping note. The three day fest saw events such as war of bands, fashion shows, a street play, and a well-attended celebrity night.
Day One of the fest kicked off with competitive events like choreography, dramatics and a performance by ISKCON’s rock band, who treated the audience to a rock version of Hare Krishna.
The second day of the fest saw some performances by the hosts, such as the one by the music group Aria, followed by a play by the college’s Hindi dramatics society - Abhirang, and the play - Masque - by the English society. “The fest was a big success and the feedback has been awesome,” says Manoj Chahal, prime minister of student’s union, Hindu College.
The concluding day saw the most sought after event of the fest — celebrity night with the RDB band and singer Nindy Kaur, who made the crowds dance to their tunes. The students also enjoyed an interesting activity called - Last Man Standing - where they were asked to perform humorous acts.
