Two more gates of Bhadbhada dam opened
Following continued seepage into the Upper Lake from its catchment area, two sluice gates- gate 5 and gate 1 -were opened on Wednesday when the water level in the lake again touched its full tank level of 1666.80 feet.

Significantly large quantum of murky water with floating debris and large clumps of water hyacinth kept flowing downstream from the opened gates.
Gate 4, which was opened on Tuesday morning at around 7.30am, was closed on Tuesday night around 3am as the water level had receded to 1,666.60 feet. After the gate was closed, water again started rising and reached its full tank level at around 5pm on Wednesday, forcing the authorities to open two gates. Gate 5 was opened around 5.30pm, while gate 1 was opened around 6pm. However, around 6.30pm, gate 1 was closed, while the gate 5 was kept open. Authorities said that the gate would remain open till the water level again recedes to 1,666.60 feet.
Meanwhile, residents of Bhopal kept visiting the dam to watch the spectacle of water gushing out from the opened gates. The rush continued for through the day on Wednesday.
