Remember Anurag Kashyap’s ambitious film Bombay Velvet to be produced by Hollywood filmmaker Danny Boyle? Although the film, for which Kashyap wishes to rope in Aamir Khan, is still on course, the filmmaker says it has been "indefinitely" delayed. But it still doesn’t stop the Dev D director from wanting Khan to play the lead role.

"Want se kya hota hai? (What can you do with want?). I have been trying to give Aamir a narration of the script but he is too busy," says Kashyap. "I don’t know when he will be free now. Since he has signed Reema Kagti’s film and Dhoom 3, Aamir won’t be free for at least another two years. Let’s see how things go."

Bombay Velvet is believed to be a lavish period film, with the sets alone costing Rs 17 crore. Apparently, Kashyap has been waiting for

nearly a year to narrate the script to Khan.

Kashyap adds, "It’s very difficult to strike the right balance when it comes to dates. Now, I am also busy with Gangs of Wasseypur, shooting for which will continue in Benaras for several months. By the time I wrap up Wasseypur, I have to strategise the release of That Girl In Yellow Boots."

Boyle is quite enthusiastic about Bombay Velvet. At the time of releasing 127 Hours, he had earlier told HT Café: "I want to work with Anurag but I got busy with 127 Hours. I haven’t heard from him since a few weeks. Once things are settled, I’ll come down to Mumbai to talk things over."
