Actor Angad Bedi, who will share screen space with Salman Khan in the sequel of Ek Tha Tiger, says that the film Pink has been a turning point in his acting career.

Actor Angad Bedi is on cloud nine and for all the right reasons. After the success of filmmaker Shoojit Sircar’s Pink (2016), Angad has finally bagged his dream role in Tiger Zinda Hai, which stars Salman Khan.

Actor Angad Bedi will start shooting for the second schedule of Ali Abbas Zafar’s film Tiger Zinda Hai in Abu Dhabi.

The sequel to Ek Tha Tiger (2012) is being directed by Ali Abbas Zafar, and also stars Katrina Kaif. Excited about the project, Angad says, “It feels great to work in a film being made by the first family of cinema. Yash [Chopra] Ji had once told me that your time will come and you will be in a film under our banner on your own merit. I will never forget his words.”

Angad got noticed for his performance in Pink, which paved the way for this big opportunity. Asked if he had to wait for long to get a commercial film, Angad replies, “As they say, ‘Der aaye par durust aaye’. Pink has been that film, which made the industry notice me. A film with Mr Bachchan and Shoojit [Sircar] da at the helm has been my turning point. Ali [Abbas Zafar] saw Pink and considered me for Tiger Zinda Hai. I will always be indebted to Ali for believing in me and casting me in the biggest film ever.”

From doing a film with a deep social message to something that has a huge commercial viability, Angad says it’s been a great experience. “I feel as an actor, you have to fit both to be saleable. Being a good actor and being a bankable actor are two different things. One can try and achieve to be both. [Also] Pink was a cult because of visionaries like Shoojit da and Mr. Bachchan. Here in Tiger Zinda Hai, Salman bhai is the biggest draw at the box office.”

Angad agrees that working with bigwigs such as Amitabh Bachchan and Salman Khan expands the scope for an actor, and adds, “I have worked in Mr Bachchan’s market and now it’s Salman Bhai’s. His mass audience will get to see me. It’s huge! I haven’t had the opportunity to interact with Katrina but her body of work is tremendous and she has done the biggest films. She’s a success story in her own.”

He says that the film is going to be his ultimate big break in Bollywood, and he will get noticed even more, and one day he would have a market of his own.

Recalling the incident when he just signed the film, Angad shares that he went straight to meet Salim Khan. “He called me over for lunch. He was the happiest. Sohail Bhai has been a big pillar of support from ever since I set foot in the industry. I remember I was at an award show , where I met Salman Bhai on red carpet and first thing he said was ‘tera ho gaya na’, I will see you in Abu Dhabi. So, I really look forward to sharing screen with him and spend some good time.”
