Bollywood stars are not known for being happy about sharing limelight with other actors, but when it comes to their kids, there are obvious exceptions. Just like actor Anil Kapoor, who didn’t tire of heaping praises on daughter Sonam, during their Delhi visit last Friday.

“I feel so good to see Sonam’s success, and the way her fans love her... I feel so proud to have her as my daughter,” said the 56-year-old veteran who looked visibly in awe of his daughter.

"She’s acted brilliantly, not just in films such as Raanjhanaa but also in Bhaag Milkha Bhaag, where she had a small role but left a big impact," said the actor, almost teary-eyed. Not willing to talk of much else, the doting dad continued to speak volumes about his daughter. "She has this angelic presence, and I love watching her acting in films... it gives me immense happiness and satisfaction to see my daughter bloom into a wonderful actor," said Anil who has himself acted in over 100 films, including Hollywood flicks such as the Oscar-winning Slumdog Millionnaire (2009), and Mission Impossible — Ghost Protocol (2011).

We asked him if Sonam, who is known for her distinct fashion sense, also plays stylist for her dad? “Oh, yes! I totally rely on her. She helps me pick up all my clothes,” he said. The duo seemed excited about being in the Capital.

“I love coming back to Delhi,” said Anil. Sonam, whose films Delhi 6 and Raanjhanaa were set in the city, has already formed a strong bond with Delhi. “The people here are so warm. And of course there’s yummy food!” said the 28-year-old self-confessed foodie.
