Bipahsa Basu Josh Hartnett

Having sizzled in Bollywood for almost a decade, the 32-year-old dusky beauty signed her first Hollywood project, Roland Joffe’s $33 million venture — Singularity. Shot across Australia and India, the love story is set across two time periods and continents, against the backdrop of the first Anglo-Maratha war of 18th century. It shows Bips as a de-glam Maratha girl opposite hunky actor Josh Hartnett. Adding meat to the project are Chris Pine, Olga Kurylenko, Christopher Egan and Shane Briant.

Om Puri Jimmy Mistry

Been there. Done that. The versatile Om Puri is back on the international circuit with West is West — a sequel to his groundbreaking English film East is East. A heart-warming story about an Asian family settled in London, it will be followed with a third outing in the series. Directed by Andy De Emmo-ny, it stars Jimmy Mistry, Linda Bassett, Emil Marwa and Lesley Nicoll. The 60-year-old actor also has David Arquette-Gillian Anderson starrer movie Sold, in his kitty.

Anil Kapoor Tom Cruise

After getting a boost in the international arena, courtesy Slumdog Millionaire and US TV show 24, Kapoor, 51, is now going to appear opposite superstar Tom Cruise in the highly awaited Mission: Impossible — Ghost Protocol. The super spy thriller will show him essaying an Indian playboy Brij Nath, who is armed with international connections at high places. That’s not it for Kapoor — he is also in talks with Ben Stiller, Fox Television and Sophia Loren’s son for more international projects.

Anil KapoorJiah Khan Not finalised

Already sporting a stiff upper lip accent, courtesy her birthplace Britain, the 23-year-old will light up the screen as a de-glam village belle in a Hollywood docu-drama that will explore reasons behind the rapidly dwindling population of Indian tigers. It will also take up issues like poaching and the effect it has internationally on India’s reservation program-mes. The cast for the ensemble venture is yet to be dislosed. But, Khan is the only mainstream actor in the venture.

Mallika Sherawat Brian White
A regular at big-ticket events abroad, Mallika’s desi career turned international with The Myth (2005) and Hisss (2010), and is now going full fledgedly Hollywood with William Dear-helmed film — Politics of Love. Set during the 2008 US Presidential elections, the film focuses on the romance between a black Republican (Brian White) and an idealistic, Obama-worshipping Democrat (Mallika Sherawat). However, those not interested in ‘politics’ can watch it for Sherawat making ‘love’ to her international co-star.
