Rohit Shetty starts Singham with Ajay Devgn in Goa tomorrow, with a chase sequence featuring 200 cars, and blowing up 20 of them

At a time when filmmakers are roping in action directors from abroad for gadget-driven thrills, Rohit Shetty is choreographing the stunts for Singham. And contrary to the general plan of shooting the action scenes last, the director will start his remake of the Tamil hit tomorrow in Goa with a chase sequence.

Shetty took 12 days to plan this sequence that is the follow-up to a kidnapping in the film. Art director Narendra Rahurikar has created a parking lot for the sequence. Lead actors, Ajay Devgn and Kajal Agarwal will be a part of the action for which Shetty has bought 200 vehicles of which 20 will be blown up.

Confirming the news, Shetty enthuses, “The thrills will be the high points of the movie that will have raw, hardcore action. We won’t be using cables and wires, what you see on screen will be real daredevilry. I can promise you, you’ll have your hearts your mouths when watching this scene and others, Ajay is doing all the stunts himself.”

Shetty insists that this car chase will be very different from the chases in Golmaal, Golmaal Returns, Golmaal 3, All The Best or Sunday. Another edge-of-the-seat chase will be shot later this month, besides plenty of hand-fights. Shetty says, “I don’t believe in getting fight directors from abroad when there is plenty of talent in India. For the hand-fight sequences, I’m getting men from the South, and there’s no one better to get physical with.”
