Kajol at Helicopter Eela launch: I look damn good for the mother of a 15-year-old

Kajol had a working birthday on Sunday as she launched the trailer of her upcoming film, Helicopter Eela, in Mumbai. Looking resplendent in a yellow dress and accompanied by husband Ajay Devgn, the actor cut a dabba-shaped cake at the Helicopter Eela trailer launch, as a nod to Indian mother’s love for the tiffin boxes. Kajol plays a helicopter mother in the film.

Talking of her own mother Tanuja, Kajol said, “My mother has always told me that if you work on your birthday, you will work the whole year round. On my birthday, I feel I am the queen of the world” Mother to teenaged Nysa and son Yug, Kajol said, “I have to say I look damn good for a mother of a 15-year-old daughter.” On a serious note, she added, “When Nysa was born, I went to my mom and told her, ‘I didn’t know how much you loved me’.”

When Ajay was asked the difference between his wife and her character Eela, he quipped, “Kajol khatam nahi hoti aur Eela shuru hi rehti hai.” The actor believed that not only women, men can also be helicopter parents.

Directed by Pradeep Sarkar, the film also stars the National Award-winning actor Riddhi Sen, who will be playing Kajol’s son. Written by Mitesh Shah, Helicopter Eela is co-produced by Ajay Devgn and Jayantilal Gada of Pen India Ltd.

Earlier, birthday wishes poured in for Kajol, the most effusive from her friend, filmmaker Karan Johar. After watching the Helicopter Eela trailer, he wrote, “Kajol is stunning and absolutely wonderful as ever!!!! Lights up the screen in every frame of this lovely trailer! Great tone and seems like a fun and emotional watch!” Celebrities like Rishi Kapoor, Preity Zinta and Kajol’s sister Tanishaa Mukerji also took to Twitter to wish her.
