Rajummar Rao-starrer Newton is in the news for more reason than one. The political satire has not only won acclaim on the festival circuit, it has been chosen as India’s entry in the foreign language category at the 90th Academy Awards over entries like Aamir Khan’s Dangal and Mukti Bhavan.

And now, two dialogues from the film caught the fancy of social media, and in no time the meme machinery has set its wheels into motion.

The scene, which was also a part of the movie trailer, shows Pankaj Tripathi challenging Rajkummar Rao by saying nobody would turn up at the polling booth. “Main likh ke deta hun, koi nahi aayega (I will give it to you in writing, nobody will show up),” he says.
