No sequel for Shahid's Ishq Vishk
Ishq Vishk producer says, "The sequel is not happening. It is false news. When I [the producer] have not discussed it with my team, how can anyone even think that the script has been locked? In fact, I have not even thought about it."
Shahid Kapoor made his debut with the Ken Ghosh-directed Ishq Vishk (2003). Recently, his debut film completed 11 years, and the actor became nostalgic — he even took to a social networking site to express his feelings about it. Then, suddenly, reports of the film’s sequel started doing the rounds. However, when contacted, the producer of the movie — Ramesh Taurani — rubbishes these claims.
A few days ago, it was reported that Ghosh was working on the script of the sequel, and had finally locked it. But when we contacted Taurani, he was completely unaware of any such development. He says, "What? I’m not at all aware [of plans of a sequel]. I don’t know from where such news pops up."
The producer goes on to say, "The sequel is not happening. It is false news. When I [the producer] have not discussed it with my team, how can anyone even think that the script has been locked? In fact, I have not even thought about it."
Rumours were also doing the rounds that Shahid, who played the lead in Ishq Vishk, would not be a part of the sequel, since Ghosh was keen to cast new faces.
Mention it to Taurani, and he says, "I can tell you that I have not met the director, or the actors from the original film, or anyone associated with Ishq Vishk to discuss any sequel."
