Not launching Aryan or Suhana, Shah Rukh Khan says this is his ‘only’ duty to his kids
Bollywood actor Shah Rukh Khan, who is one of the most doting dads in Bollywood, shared a sweet tweet about his children and it is the perfect parenting mantra.
The rest of the world may be already on a countdown when Shah Rukh Khan’s children Aryan Khan and Suhana Khan will make their Bollywood debuts, the actor wants to delay all of it as long as he can. In fact, if he has his way, he would let them be innocent as long as he can.
Tuesday marks the death anniversary of Shah Rukh’s father, Mir Taj Mohammad Khan, and the actor took to Twitter to pay him a homage with a philosophical tweet. “19Sept. Like my dad(RIP),my only duty 2 my kids is 2 delay the onset of their adulthood as much as possible.Retain purity of their childhood.”
SRK, who is a father of three kids (Aryan, Suhana and AbRam), lost his dad when he 15 and grew up with only his mom by his side. The actor has been unequivocal about his focus on his children.
Speaking about the media attention that his kids have to face, Shah Rukh had earlier said, “The part of stardom we have all accepted, this is part of stardom. I think the kids started feeling awkward with all the paraphernalia. Every time I go out in a public place, I don’t take them with me. My wife doesn’t come, my children don’t come. I go to functions alone or post they have gone.”
Calling himself a ‘cool father’, SRK said, “When I am with Aryan sometimes, we just lay down in our shorts without our shirts and we crack some dirty jokes. He gets really excited telling me about gaalis he’s learnt. I’m from Delhi and I’ve also been that age and my vocabulary of Hindi gaalis is fantastic (smiles). So when he tells me one, I tell him that I’ll teach him another version of it.”
Talking about how Suhana wants to be an actor, he had said, “Suhana wants to be an actress. I see that zeal in her. She’s extremely good on stage, I’ve seen her performances. She’s admittedly a cinema fan and wants to be in the industry. But my point is simple — you need to complete your education before doing anything. That’s the only thing I have told my children.”
