Actor Nushrat Bharucha reveals that she is getting more offers and better roles since the film released.

Nushrat Bharucha as Sweety in Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety (2018) was one movie character that people loved to hate. The film not only got the cash registers ringing at the box office but has also given the actor’s career a definitive and a much-needed push. Recalling one incident that highlights the popularity of the character and the kind of impact it has brought to her life and career path, Nushrat shares that recently when she was travelling, a co-passenger in the flight approached her to inform that he was “watching SKTKS for the fifth time, and is completely enjoying it.” The actor gleefully admits that “such compliments matter” and “that’s the kind of work and impact” she wants as the “highlight of her career”.

Actor Nushrat Bharucha is currently busy with her upcoming Bollywood film Dream Girl.

The actor says there’s been a huge difference in the number of offers that’s started coming in after the film released compared to how it was in the past. “This year, I have two releases: Turram Khan (starring Rajkummar Rao) and Dream Girl (starring Ayushmann Khurrana), and they will come out back-to-back, I guess. I mean this is the first time that two of my films are releasing in the same year. Otherwise, it used to be one film in two years. So, the maths and equations have definitely changed for better. And I am getting interesting offers too,” shares the Bollywood star, who will also be seen in the Sidharth Malhotra-starrer Marjaavaan, doing a special dance number.

Not just films, Nushrat is also happy with the kind of roles that are being offered to her now. “Rajkummar is a good actor and I had always wanted to collaborate with him. Hansal (Mehta) sir creates a different world and I have enjoyed watching his earlier films. I am enjoying the process that he follows to bring out the character he wants out of an actor. My role is that of a small town girl, and the character is as real as it can get. For a change there is no plotting and planning,” she laughs hinting at her previous yet popular role, Sweety.

About Dream Girl, Nushrat reveals that in this film too, she is playing a girl who hails from a small town who has big dreams: “This film has a completely different spectrum.”
