Priyanka Chopra’s mother on why son Siddharth and Ishita’s wedding was cancelled: ‘He needed more time’
Priyanka Chopra’s mother Madhu Chopra has now revealed why son Siddharth’s wedding was cancelled at the last minute. He was supposed to get married in April this year.
Actor Priyanka Chopra’s mother Madhu Chopra has opened up on why the wedding of her son, Siddharth Chopra, was called off at the last minute. She had earlier confirmed that the wedding was indeed cancelled mutually and not postponed as reported earlier.
Talking to Spotboye, Madhu said, “My son Siddharth said he was not ready for marriage yet. He explained he needed more time.” Siddharth and fiancee Ishita were supposed to marry on April 30 with their roka taking place in February. The website said the wedding may have been “pushed in haste”.
The February event was attended by the extended families with Priyanka flying in with husband Nick Jonas.

For the April wedding too, Priyanka was in India when the wedding was called off. At that time, it was sepculated that the wedding was postponed due to an emergency surgery that Ishita had to undergo. However, soon after Priyanka and Siddharth unfollowed Ishita on social media while she deleted photos of the roka ceremony and her bridal shower from her timeline.
Ishita has now shared a photo herself with a friend, “Cheers to new beginnings. With a goodbye kiss to beautiful endings”. Ishita’s mother commented on the photo, “Close old book and write new story,” while her father wrote, “We are with you; Feel the expanse of the universe and be the star you were born to be.”

Earlier, Siddharth was supposed to marry his girlfriend, Kanika Mathur but the wedding was called off at the last minute.
