Salman Khan’s sister attends Priyanka Chopra, Nick Jonas’ engagement. All’s well after Bharat feud?

Priyanka Chopra’s roka ceremony with Nick Jonas was a strictly intimate affair. She and her family invited only the most important family members and friends. So if you got an invite, consider yourself lucky.

The actor and the singer committed themselves to each other at a traditional Hindu ceremony in the presence of their family and friends. A list of invitees includes her cousin Parineeti Chopra, her manager Anjula Acharia, friend Mushtaq Sheikh, VJ Anusha Dandekar and Salman Khan’s sister and Priyanka’s close friend, Arpita Khan Sharma.

Arpita arrived in a pretty pink suit to join her friend on her big day. The two are often seen together on dinner dates and Priyanka was one of the first people to pay Arpita a visit when her son, Aahil was born.

The invitation also suggests that all is well between Priyanka and Salman after she quit his film Bharat merely 10 days before her portion of shoot was to begin. Bharat director Ali Abbas Zafar hinted in a tweet that the reason behind her exit from the film was her engagement with Nick. A few reports suggested that Salman and the film’s producers were angry at Priyanka for leaving their film in a lurch without proper notice.

Salman’s father, Salim Khan said in an interview to SpotBoye that actors leave and join projects all the time and it’s nothing new. “It’s okay whatever happened. Priyanka is not doing Bharat, let her be. Such things happen in our industry,” he said. When asked if the film’s team was angry at Priyanka for leaving the film just when the shoot was about to begin, he said it was not true. However, when asked who will replace Priyanka in the movie, Salim said anyone could do it. “Koi bhi aa jayeja (uski jagah par). Bahut saare log hain. (Anyone can replace here. There are many people),” he said. Finally, Katrina Kaif was roped in for the project.

It was also later reported that Priyanka has signed a Hollywood film with Chris Pratt, Cowboy Ninja Viking. The rumours of a feud took flight once again when Salman took a passive aggressive approach to addressing Priyanka’s exit. While Salman said the team was supportive of her for doing good work, he also said it was her choice if she wants to work with him or a ‘bada hero’ from Hollywood. “We said of course, if you don’t want to do it, don’t do it. We were given different reasons back then. But whatever the reason may be, the wedding, the movie, or if she doesn’t want to work in an Indian movie, or doesn’t want to work with me, or work only in Hollywood film and TV, these are her reasons. We are really happy and supportive about her doing good work,” he said.

However, he did mention that Priyanka was making the country proud with her work. “So what if she doesn’t work here? She is making India proud out there. If she doesn’t work with Salman but works with a big hero in Hollywood, she is making India proud,” he added.

Looks like things are indeed well between the two.
