Sequel fever hits Bollywood

This will be the year of sequels in tinsel town. From the Deols to SRK, Salman and all the other Khans, this year has it all. Here is what you should expect. Read on find out.

Yamla Pagla Deewana - 2011
The Deols - Dharmendra, Sunny and Bobby have decided to make a sequel to the film that has hit the box office jackpot. “We will definitely go in for a sequel now. When people like characters, they want to see them again...so now our energies will be focused on how to get a better subject for the sequel," Sunny said.

Once Upon a Time In Mumbaai - 2010
The film that initially got into trouble for being supposedly inspired by Haji Mastan’s life had a successful stint at the box office. A sequel to the film is set to be based on don Dawood Ebrahim’s life and will be titled Once Upon a Time In Dubai and would be set in the 1980s era. Rumour has it that Balaji is looking for a fresh cast and actor Akshay Kumar may star in it.

No Entry - 2005
Producer Boney Kapoor is set to start shooting for the sequel to the laugh riot with the original cast - Fardeen Khan, Anil Kapoor and Salman Khan. The sequel is titled No Entry Mein Entry. Boney Kapoor says, “We are writing the script currently.”

Race - 2008
The sequel to the film titled Race 2 goes on the floors in June this year. From the original cast, only Anil Kapoor and Saif Ali Khan have been retained. Bipasha Basu, Katrina Kaif and Akshay Khanna have been replaced with John Abraham, Deepika Padukone and Sonakshi Sinha.

Housefull
- 2010
Filmmaker Sajid Khan’s multi- starrer was a hit at the box office and the director now plans a sequel. Khan is scripting the film that will go on the floors in June. Askahy Kumar, Ritesih Deshmukh and John Abraham are the male leads while female leads are yet to be finalised.

Krrissh - 2006
Filmmaker Rakesh Roshan is working on the script of Krrissh3 with the original cast of Hrithik Roshan and Priyanka Chopra. Roshan says, “We are still in the scripting stage.”

Dostana - 2008
Filmmaker Tarun Mansukhani is scripting the sequel to the film that originally starred Abhishek Bachchan, John Abraham and Priyanka Chopra. The cast remains the same except for Priyanka who has been replaced with Katrina Kaif.

Golmaal 3- 2010
Director Rohit Shetty had announced the sequel to third part of the Golmaal series even before its release. The entire original cast of the series is on board for the next installment.

Dabangg- 2010

Arbaaz Khan will produce the sequel to 2010’s biggest hit, keeping the core cast of Salman Khan, Sonakshi Sinha and Sonu Sood unchanged.

Don : The chase Begins 2006
Filmmaker Farhan Akhtar has already shot parts of the sequel, titled Don 2: The Chase Continues, with the original cast of Shah Rukh Khan and Priyanka Chopra. Actor Kunal Kapoor is the new addition, while Hrithik Roshan will do a cameo.
