Shah Rukh Khan, Deepika Padukone to hit the ramp for Chennai Express promotions
"SRK and Deepika will walk the ramp at a fashion show in Chennai on August 2. The organisers of the fashion show also held a contest and picked 10 winners. All the girls who have won will be dressed like Deepika’s character Meena, and will be present at the show."
Looks like Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone are going all out to promote their next, Rohit Shetty’s Chennai Express (CE). What’s more, the duo is heading to Chennai this week to take part in a promotional activity for the film.
A source close to the movie’s team reveals, “SRK and Deepika will walk the ramp at a fashion show in Chennai on August 2. The organisers of the fashion show also held a contest and picked 10 winners. All the girls who have won will be dressed like Deepika’s character Meena, and will be present at the show. This is all part of a marketing gimmick for the film.”
Apparently, the makers are looking at promoting the movie heavily in Chennai since it is based there. But that doesn’t mean they will not market the film in other parts of the country. The source adds, “They have already done promotions in Bhopal, Ahmedabad and Kolkata. They are heading to Chennai, Jalandhar and Delhi now. And of course, there will be promotions within Mumbai.”
The makers also intend to promote the film extensively in London and Dubai as those cities are core international markets for SRK. On being contacted, a spokesperson for the film confirmed this news.
