Kabir Singh actor Shahid Kapoor has revealed how he would return home longing for some sleep but daughter Misha will wake him up and drag him to the garden.

Actor Shahid Kapoor will soon be seen as an alcoholic doctor in his upcoming film, Kabir Singh. The actor is seen in an angry avatar in the film’s trailer, drinking endless bottles of liquor and taking drugs. The actor has revealed how difficult it was to switch from his onscreen avatar to becoming a perfect father in personal life.

Talking about how the role came with its own challenges, Shahid told Mumbai Mirror in an interview, “After long days or night shifts, I return home longing for sleep. But my daughter Misha will wake me up between 7.30-8 am every morning and drag me to the garden. I have to play with her, tell her stories. And it’s imperative that I give my children as much time as I give to my work.”

Calling it tiring and a constant adjustment, he adds, “My wife (Mira) is supportive but there are days when I wish for eight hours more. Your ‘me’ time is impacted but it’s gratifying to get a shot of positivity every morning. Misha is a little lady now, Zain is still a baby, but with a daughter and a son it feels like a perfect family.”

However, the actor has expressed that he has to be the best version of himself as his work is being documented. “You want to do things that will make your family proud. It will be there for my kids to see, give them an understanding of who their father was and what he did. You can’t tell children what to do today, you can just set a good example and let them take away from it what they want.”

Shahid will be seen opposite Kiara Advani in Kabir Singh. The film is the Hindi remake of the hit Telugu film, Arjun Reddy. It has been directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga, who directed the original. The film is slated to hit theatres on June 21.
