For instance, Shahid Kapoor shaved his head for Vishal Bhardwaj’s Haider; Ranveer Singh had to adhere to a strict diet and refrain from eating any junk food while he was working on Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Goliyon Ki Raasleela Ram-Leela (2013).

Now, Sonam Kapoor seems to have joined this list. For her upcoming film opposite Salman Khan (Prem Ratan Dhan Payo), Sonam has to shed some weight. And to achieve the required look, she has been advised to stay away from all things sweet.

According to a source close to the actor, Sonam has a tendency to gain weight easily, which is why her dietician has asked her to be extra careful about what she eats.

Interestingly, before Sonam joined the film industry, she apparently weighed over 86 kg. It was only after she lost 35 kg that she made her debut with Bhansali’s Saawariya (2007).

"She loves eating cupcakes and finds it very hard to curb her sweet tooth. But she is determined now and that’s why she has completely stopped eating anything that has sugar," adds the source.

The actor has been asked to give up sugar for the next two months. Meanwhile, she has also started a special workout regimen. "She is on a strict fitness routine that includes cardio, Pilates and yoga," says the source.
