Suriya also said he takes reference for his films from Mohanlal’s work. While most actors struggle to perform in front of a camera, Suriya said that even if there is a magnifying lens right in front of his face, Mohanlal will make it disappear.

Talking about Kaappaan, Suriya confirmed that Mohanlal plays the role of the Prime Minister and he plays an SPG (Special Protection Group) officer. He said that an SPG officer is usually entrusted with the responsibility of protecting the Prime Minister and the members of his family.

The project, which is on the verge of completion, also stars Sayyeshaa, Arya, Boman Irani and Samuthirakani in pivotal roles. The film, gearing up for release this August, originally starred Telugu actor Allu Sirish in a crucial role. He later chose to exit from the project. Arya was eventually signed on to replace Sirish and the grapevine is that the former plays a negative role.

Suriya is currently busy shooting the last schedule of Kaappaan. The team is currently shooting an action sequence in Orissa.
