The Big Bang Theory stars watch Kunal Nayyar's docu on Tendulkar
The 32-year-old decided to hold a screening of his first production, a cricket based-documentary Beyond All Boundaries — a major portion of which revolves around Sachin and his famous fan Sudhir (who paints himself in the colours of the Indian flag) — to the entire star cast of Big Bang Theory.
Surely, Sachin Tendulkar’s retirement sent cricket-crazed Indians into a further tizzy. But far away from the country, US-based actor of Indian origin, Kunal Nayyar — famous for his hit American sitcom The Big Bang Theory (TBBT) — was equally surprised. So the self-confessed Tendulkar fan decided to do something very special. The 32-year-old decided to hold a screening of his first production, a cricket based-documentary Beyond All Boundaries — a major portion of which revolves around Sachin and his famous fan Sudhir (who paints himself in the colours of the Indian flag) — to the entire star cast of the sitcom.
It all started when the docu-film’s director Sushrut Jain was invited to the TBBT sets by Kunal. “Sushrut bonded with the entire cast. They discussed the film at length and the cast was excited about it. So both Kunal and Sushrut decided to organise a screening of the film for Johnny Galecki, Jim Parsons, Kaley Cuoco and Simon Helberg, among others,” says an insider close to Kunal.
Co-incidentally, Sachin announced his retirement around the same time that Kunal and Sushrut decided to hold the screening. “So Kunal decided that this is the right time that his friends in LA and the cast of TBBT should also watch the film and know more about the legend. The docu-film’s screening is confirmed now,” adds the insider. The screening will take place within a couple of days.
When contacted, Sushrut confirms the news, saying, “Kunal and I are both huge fans of Sachin Tendulkar. And when I spent some time on the sets of TBBT with him and got to meet the cast, we immediately planned a special screening for the entire team.”
