Why Farah Khan missed Shah Rukh Khan’s birthday bash
Shah Rukh threw a lavish bash on November 1 — his 51st birthday — for close friends and family. Farah was also invited but she didn’t attend.
Shah Rukh Khan and Farah Khan go back a long way. The two have worked in films such as Main Hoon Na (2004), which was also Farah’s directorial debut, Om Shanti Om (2007) and Happy New Year (2014).
Over the years, Shah Rukh and Farah have forged a close friendship. Shah Rukh threw a lavish bash on November 1 — his 51st birthday — for close friends and family. Farah was also invited, but the choreographer could not attend the party as she was shooting and choreographing a song at Madh Island for Farhan Akhtar’s next film.
“Recently, Farhan and producer Ritesh Sidhwani requested Farah to choreograph a highlight song that acts as a bridge between the two movies (the original film and the forthcoming sequel). The song titled, ‘You know what I mean’, was shot at Madh Island and is a flashback wedding song,” says an insider.
Since Farah shares a warm equation with Farhan and Ritesh, she couldn’t refuse and agreed to choreograph the number within a day. “Though Farah could not be there for Shah Rukh’s birthday celebrations, she tweeted to him a collage of their pictures from all their years of knowing each other. She will also visit him soon to wish him in person,” adds the insider.
Despite repeated attempts, Farah couldn’t be reached for a comment.
