Deepika Padukone, recently dedicated her award for best female actor (Happy New Year; 2014) to Kangana Ranaut. Kangana, however says she would have appreciated a more personal approach.

It’s no secret that Kangana Ranaut’s performance in Vikas Bahl’s Queen (2014) got widespread acclaim, besides the film becoming a hit. But still, Kangana has decided to give a miss to the awards season. However, a few days back, she made her presence felt at an awards show despite not being there, as Deepika Padukone, who bagged the best female actor (for Happy New Year; 2014), dedicated her award to the actor.

While accepting the trophy, Deepika said, "Thank you for this award, but I believe that this year belonged to Kangana. So, Kangana, this one’s for you."

When HT Café contacted Kangana to know her reaction to Deepika’s ‘praise’, she wished for a more personal approach. "Yes, I heard about that (Deepika dedicating her award to her), but I hope someday, she would tell me in person what she feels about my work. I would appreciate that a lot more."

Last year, too, Deepika had stated that she was "jealous of her (Kangana’s) performance" in Queen. "I think she was outstanding. What a beautiful film… it’s one of the best films I have seen in the longest time and it’s outstanding," Deepika had said on the sidelines of HT Mumbai Most Stylish Awards in 2014.

Kangana, on her part, has stuck to the stand of not attending awards functions. A few weeks ago, the actor, in an interview to HT Café, called it a "waste of time", and "not her cup of tea".

She added, "There are people who love awards, and want to receive them. Why shouldn’t they get them? I will appreciate it if I am not nominated (for Queen) because it doesn’t thrill me anymore. I have started finding award functions extremely long and boring. They’re a waste of time."
