HT-Nielsen Top 10 list: Harry Potter continues to be children’s favourite

Amish Tripathi’s Sita: Warrior of Mithila remains unchallenged, holding the top spot on the list of bestselling fiction this week as well. It is followed by Paulo Coehlo’s The Alchemist, Chetan Bhagat’s One Indian Girl, Amish Tripathi’s Scion of Ikshvaku and Durjoy Datta’s The Boy Who Loved. Novoneel Chakraborty’s Forever is a Lie is a new entrant to the list this week at number 9.

In the nonfiction category, Raghuram Rajan’s I Do What I Do maintains its number one position from last week. India’s Most Fearless: True Stories of Modern Military Heroes by Shiv Aroor and Rahul Singh is a new entrant to the list this week at the second spot. Dr Joseph Murphy’s The Power of Your Subconscious Mind is at number 3, followed by Napolean Hill’s Think and Grow Rich and Sudha Murty’s Three Thousand Stitches. Rhonda Byrne’s The Secret has fallen from the second spot to the sixth, and Amish Tripathi’s nonfiction debut, Immortal India, which held the sixth spot last week, has moved to the tenth.

The Boy Who Lived continues to rule the list of best-selling children’s books by international publishers this week as well. Harry Potter and the Cursed Child is at number 1, followed by Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone. The third position is taken by Geronimo Stilton’s The Dragon of Fortune, followed by Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets and Geronimo Stilton’s The Ship of Secrets.

Ruskin Bond’s Great Stories for Children holds the top spot on the list of best-selling children’s books in Indian publishing this week, followed by 365 Bedtime Stories, Rungeen Singh’s The Best of Tenali Raman, Antoine de Saint-Exupery’s The Little Prince and 365 Panchatantra Stories.
