PVR Q1 net profit up by 79% to Rs 14 cr

Multiplex chain operator PVR reported a 79% jump in net profit at R14 crore for the April-June quarter, driven by strong box office performances and strong ad revenues.
Multiplex chain operator PVR reported a 79% jump in net profit at Rs 14 crore for the April-June quarter, driven by strong box office performances and strong ad revenues.
Consolidated revenues stood at Rs 337.3 crore, which was up 87% from the year-ago period. During the quarter, PVR added 35 new cinema screens across the country.

“The integration of PVR and Cinemax at operating level is progressing well and the management is focusing on driving synergies from the combined scale of operations which is reflecting in the market share and the reported results,” said Ajay Bijli, CMD, PVR Ltd.
